Educational Qualification and other essential qualifications

A candidate must possess a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislatures in India or any educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or an equivalent qualification.

Note:- (i) Candidates who have appeared or will appear in any such examination, passing of which would make them educationally eligible for this examination of the Commission but who are not aware of the result and such candidates who wish to appear in such qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission in the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who have been declared eligible by the Commission for the State Service Main Examination will have to pass the said qualifying examination on or before the last date of online application for the Main Examination and will have to produce valid proof in this regard at the time of document verification. (ii) Such candidates who possess such professional and technical qualifications which are recognized by the State Government as equivalent to professional and technical degree will also be eligible for admission in the examination.

Prescribed date for calculation of age

The age of the candidate should have completed 21 years but should not be more than 30 years, but as per the instructions given in Chhattisgarh Government, General Administration Department’s Circular No. F 3-2/2002/1-3 Raipur dated 15.06.2010, the maximum age for local/native candidates of Chhattisgarh State is fixed at 35 years, but as per the instructions given in Circular No. F 3-2/2015/1-3 Naya Raipur, dated 30.01.2019, keeping in view the interest of the educated unemployed of Chhattisgarh State, the State Government will give 05 years relaxation in the maximum age limit of 35 years to the local residents of Chhattisgarh State.

ii) The above age limit provisions will not be applicable for the (officers/employees) of the Home (Police) Department. For the posts of direct recruitment in the Home (Police) Department, the age limit as prescribed/provisioned in the recruitment rules of the Home (Police) Department will be applicable for direct recruitment.

■(iii) The relaxations in the maximum age limit for other special categories of Chhattisgarh such as Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Women, Disabled etc. will remain applicable but the maximum age limit for them including all the relaxations will not exceed 45 years.

■(iv) The maximum age of permanent/temporary government servants of the Chhattisgarh Government and employees of the Corporation/Board of Chhattisgarh State should not exceed 38 years. This concession will also be admissible to employees receiving salary from contingency fund, workload employees, employees working under the Project Implementation Committee. Provided that applicants from reserved categories of Chhattisgarh such as SC/ST/OBC, handicapped and women/widow/abandoned category, etc. will continue to get age relaxation as per their category. Provided further that the maximum age after this relaxation should not exceed 45 years under any circumstances.

(v) As per Chhattisgarh Government General Administration Department Circular No. F 3-2/2002/1-3 Raipur dated 30.01.2012, persons appointed on contract basis will be given relaxation of the same number of years in the maximum age limit prescribed for submitting application form in government service as the number of years he has served on contract basis. This relaxation will be up to a maximum age limit of 38 years.

The minimum and maximum age of the candidates for State Service Examination-2024 (which also includes relaxation in age limit as mentioned hereinafter) will be calculated with reference to the date 01.01.2024, hence, before applying, the candidates should ensure that they are within the minimum and maximum age limit prescribed for appearing in the examination with reference to the said date.

Age limit and age relaxation

:- 8.1) Age limit, relaxation in age limit and physical standard for the candidates for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in State Police Service shall be as follows:- (A) Age limit As per Chhattisgarh Government General Administration Department’s circular No. F-3-2/2002/1/3 dated 15.06.2010, clause-4 and Chhattisgarh Police Executive (Gazetted) Service Recruitment and Promotion Rules 2005, age limit for Deputy Superintendent of Police has been fixed from 21 to 28 years.

(B) Relaxation in Age Limit (1) The upper age limit shall be relaxed upto a maximum of five years in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer). (ii) A candidate who is an ex-serviceman of Chhattisgarh shall be allowed to deduct from his age the period of all the defence service rendered by him earlier, provided the age resulting therefrom does not exceed three years from the higher age limit. (iii) The maximum age of permanent/temporary Government servants of Chhattisgarh Government and employees of Corporation/Board of Chhattisgarh State shall not exceed 33 years. This concession shall also be admissible to employees receiving salary from contingency fund, on-charge employees, employees working under Project Implementation Committee. (iv) A candidate who is a retrenched Government servant shall be allowed to deduct from his age the period of all the temporary service rendered by him earlier, upto a maximum of seven years, even if it is service rendered more than once, provided the age resulting therefrom does not exceed three years from the higher age limit.

Pay Scale of this Recruitment

The salary of this recruitment will be between Rs 25,000 to Rs 80,000 per month.

Important 1.

1. Applications for State Service Examination-2024 will be accepted only online and till the prescribed date. Any type of manual or postal application form will not be accepted by the Commission.

2. Candidates applying for the examination should ensure themselves before applying that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Only those candidates who fulfil all the eligibility conditions should apply. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional even if they fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of Admit Card to a candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally accepted by the Commission. The Commission checks the eligibility conditions only after shortlisting the candidates for written test/interview.

3. For the above mentioned examination, the candidate can pay the examination fee and portal fee through online mode. No bank draft or cheque will be accepted for payment of examination fee.

4. 4. Online applications for State Service Preliminary Examination-2024 can be made from 12:00 noon on 01/12/2024 to 11:59 pm on 30/12/2024 through the link available on www.psc.cg.gov.in.

5. The work of correction of errors in online application can be done after the last date of application from 31/12/2024 at 12:00 noon to 01/01/2024 at 11:59 pm. The said error correction work can be done online only once. The said error correction will be free.

6. The work of paid error correction in online application can be done after the last date for free correction from 12:00 noon on 02/01/2024 to 11:59 pm on 03/01/2024. For the said paid error correction, a fee of Rs. 500 / – (Rupees five hundred will be charged. The said paid error correction work can be done online only once. (See advertisement clause 19)

7. In case of category correction, if a candidate corrects his/her online application form filled as reserved category and makes it unreserved category and option of “No” is given in Domicile, then he/she will have to pay the difference in fee, but in case of candidates who had not shown Domicile of Chhattisgarh option earlier, in case of change in Domicile to “Yes”, the difference in fee will not be refunded.

8. The representation received after paid error correction will be automatically considered cancelled, detailed information in this regard was issued on 03.07.2024, which is available on the Commission’s website.

9. The provisions of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission Procedure Rules 2014 (as amended) will be applicable on those procedures/subjects which are not mentioned in the State Service Examination Rules.

Important Note:-

(i) The service cadre and number of posts are subject to change till the last date of online application.

(ii) This advertisement is being published as per the number of posts mentioned in the demand letters of the concerned departments.



(iii) Only local/native disabled persons of Chhattisgarh will be eligible. Native residents of Chhattisgarh will get the benefit of reservation applicable on the date of declaration of preliminary exam result and all types of age relaxation (widow, women, SC, ST, OBC, disabled persons, ex-servicemen) will be available to local residents. But residents of other states who are working on contract in Chhattisgarh state will also get age relaxation as per rules for working years on contract basis. See clause 8.2 (A) of advertisement

(iv) Minimum qualifying marks for preliminary exam and main exam In each paper, candidates of unreserved category must get minimum 33% marks and candidates of reserved category must get minimum 23% marks.

(v) Extremely important: –

Candidates should apply online only after carefully reading the instructions given in the advertisement.

(i) Candidates residing outside Chhattisgarh state (other states) who are recognized as SC/ST/OBC in their state will be considered like candidates of unreserved category only against the posts advertised for unreserved category candidates, not against reserved posts. Such candidates will have to select unreserved category as their category.

(ii) The benefit of reservation to the OBC candidate is payable only if he is non-creamy layer. Along with the caste certificate, the candidate must have an income certificate issued within the last 03 years from the date of application to be accepted under non-creamy layer.

iii) Action will be taken as per the instructions issued by the General Administration Department in respect of Government servants, for which the candidate will have to submit the attested copy of all the orders related to the first appointment and promotion of his/her mother and father at the time of document verification.

iv) Candidates whose father has died will have to submit the income certificate issued in the name of the mother and if both mother and father have died then they will have to submit the income certificate issued in their own name or in the name of the guardian along with the death certificate of the parents.

v) Candidates whose parents are divorced will have to submit their divorce papers or if they are separated for many years without divorce, then they will have to submit an affidavit regarding their parents being separated. Married female candidates will have to submit income certificate issued in the name of their father.

Identification Marks :-

No name, name or address of any city, town, village, place, roll number, any religious symbol, any identification mark or any letter, word, sentence or any religious word/sentence other than the answer should be written anywhere in the Question-cum-Answer Book except the prescribed place. Do not use any other colour or any type of pen like sketch pen, highlighter, glitter pen etc. in the answer sheet except blue and black ball point pen. If this is done, the invigilator can recommend that the concerned candidate be declared unfit. The decision of the Commission in this regard will be final. Note-If there is a need to write a name in the answer to a question, then write A, B, C and if there is a need to write the name of a city, town, village or place, then write Ka, Kha, Ga (X, Y, Z, which will not come under the category of identification marks.

12) If necessary, information regarding advertisement will be given by the Commission by publishing a notification in ‘Rozgar Aur Niyojan’ or daily newspapers or on the Commission’s website in due time.

Very important :-

(i) Candidates belonging to Chhattisgarh Disabled Persons / Chhattisgarh Ex-Servicemen category should clearly mention the certificate number, date, designation of the issuer and other information in the online application form at the appropriate place.

(ii) As per the RPwD Act, 2016 and the letter number F.No. 29-6/2019-DD-III Dated 10/08/2022 of the Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the candidate may be allowed to use a co-writer on presenting a certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer / Civil Surgeon / Medical Superintendent of a government health care institution as per the format given in Form 1 and Form-2 to the effect that the concerned candidate is physically incapable of writing and it is unavoidable to take the services of a co-writer to write the examination on his behalf. Candidates can arrange for a co-writer themselves as per the rules or can request the District / Division Office to provide a co-writer.

(iii) The qualification of the co-writer provided by himself or by the District/Divisional Office should be less than the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed for the examination. However, the qualification of the co-writer should always be Matriculation or above. The candidate has the discretion to bring his own co-writer or request the District/Divisional Office for the same. Candidates who wish to avail the facility of co-writer in the examination and wish to get co-writer from the District/Divisional Office or wish to bring co-writer themselves, should fill the form as per Appendix-V of the advertisement at the time of online application.

As per six, seven and eight, obtain Form-1, Form-2, Form-3 and Form-4, get the signature of the competent authority in Form-1, the signature of the candidate in Form-2 and Form-3, the signature of the co-writer in Form-4 and submit them to the concerned District or Division office to get a co-writer from the District/Division office or to take his own co-writer with him on the day of examination, otherwise the candidate will not be able to use the facility of co-writer. To arrange for a co-writer himself or to avail the facility of co-writer from the District/Division office, in both the cases it will be mandatory to obtain permission for co-writer by filling up Form 01, 02, 03 and 04 completely and getting it signed by the concerned person and submitting it to the concerned District/Division office, otherwise the candidate will not be able to use the facility of co-writer on the day of examination. Blindness, affected by both arms and cerebral palsy


Candidates with benchmark disabilities under the following categories will be provided compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of examination. This facility will be provided on production of a certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of any Government Health Care Institution stating that the candidate is physically handicapped in writing, as per Form-1, Form-2, Form-3 and Form-4 available in Appendix Five to Eight. Candidates who are provided the facility of co-scribe are expected to contact the concerned District/Divisional Office authorized by the Commission 05 days before the date of examination after the issuance of the admit card to complete all the formalities in this regard by filling Form-1, Form-2, Form-3 and Form-4 downloaded after online application and obtaining the signature of the concerned. Letter issued by the District/Divisional Office in the name of the Examination Centre Head in which the candidate will be given permission to use co-scribe in the examination along with the details of the co-scribe.



v) The posts reserved for ex-servicemen who are natives of Chhattisgarh / local residents will be reserved for such candidates who are themselves ex-servicemen (candidates dependent on ex-servicemen will not be considered) and who have not previously availed the benefit of ex-servicemen reservation for employment in any government service. For such ex-servicemen candidates, the discharge certificate of the ex-serviceman (competent certificate) will be required at the time of pre-interview document verification.

Method of selection

Application Fee for Online Application :-

(i) For applicants residing outside Chhattisgarh state, Rs. 400/- (four hundred rupees) will be the application fee. No examination fee will be charged from applicants residing locally in Chhattisgarh state. All candidates will have to pay portal fee and GST for online application, but in the process of paid error correction, error correction fee and payment gateway fee will be payable by the candidate as per the prescribed rate.

Online application and error correction

(19) After expiry of the last date for online application and correction of errors, candidates will be given an opportunity to correct errors in date of birth, sex, category, domicile, disability and ex-servicemen related errors only, on a pay basis, for the time period shown in the advertisement.

(1) For paid error correction, a fee of Rs. 500/- will be charged from the concerned candidate for correction of one or more errors. If a candidate corrects the error from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’ in the column ‘Resident of Chhattisgarh’ in the online portal, then the candidate will have to pay the fee as per the rules. If the error from ‘Yes’ to ‘No’ is corrected in the column ‘Resident of Chhattisgarh’, then the fee amount will not be refunded.

(ii) In the paid error correction process, payment gateway charges and applicable taxes will be payable by the candidate as per the prescribed rates.

(iii) No candidate will be given any opportunity to correct any errors in any manner whatsoever after the paid correction.

(iv) After paid error correction, the data of the concerned candidate will be considered final and the said data will be verified on the basis of original documents during document verification before interview / final selection. v) The process of error correction will be completely online.

preliminary examination

(Objective Type) The preliminary examination will have 2 compulsory question papers of 2:00 hours duration. Both the question papers will be of objective type multiple choice. Each question will have 4 options, out of which you will have to identify the correct answer. Negative marks will also be given for wrong answers. First Question Paper-General Studies (Questions 100, Marks 200, Time 2:00 hours). For every wrong answer, 1/3 marks of the correct answer will be deducted.

• Second paper- Qualifying test (Questions 100, Marks 200, Time 2:00 hours). For every wrong answer, 1/3 of the marks allotted for the correct answer will be deducted. Minimum qualifying marks – In each paper, it will be mandatory for the candidates of unreserved category to get minimum 33% marks and for the candidates of reserved category to get minimum 23% marks.

The second paper-Aptitude test will be of qualifying nature. The marks obtained in this paper will not be added while preparing the merit list for selection of candidates for the main examination. Candidates will be selected for the main examination on the basis of the merit list of the first paper-General Studies.
